These peanut butter dreams are a delicate balance of peanut butter, chocolate, and salted toffee. Basically if a candy bar and a cookie got married and had a baby. Sweet, salty, and crisp – this super easy cookie recipe hits all the right notes and only uses 7 ingredients.
Ingredients
- 1 cup peanut butter
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp cocoa powder
- ¼ cup butter
- Flakey salt to taste
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350° F
- Combine peanut butter, granulated sugar, and half of brown sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Add cocoa powder and egg and mix until well combined into a dense dough ball.
- Place equal sized cookie dough balls onto lined cookie sheet.
- Using a fork, press cookie down with a crisscross pattern.
- Bake for 8-12 minutes.
- While cookies are baking prepare a simple toffee. Start by browning butter on medium high heat.
- Add other half of brown sugar and stir continuously until well melted and combined. Remove from heat.
- As soon as cookies come out of the oven top with flakey salt and cool for 5-10 minutes.
- Using a fork drizzle desired amount toffee mixture on top of cooled cookies.
- Top with more flakey salt and then cool in fridge for about 45 minutes or until toffee is fully hardened.
- Enjoy!
Best served with a cold glass of milk
