Peanut Butter Dreams

These peanut butter dreams are a delicate balance of peanut butter, chocolate, and salted toffee. Basically if a candy bar and a cookie got married and had a baby. Sweet, salty, and crisp – this super easy cookie recipe hits all the right notes and only uses 7 ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp cocoa powder
  • ¼ cup butter
  • Flakey salt to taste

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350° F
  2. Combine peanut butter, granulated sugar, and half of brown sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add cocoa powder and egg and mix until well combined into a dense dough ball.
  4. Place equal sized cookie dough balls onto lined cookie sheet.
  5. Using a fork, press cookie down with a crisscross pattern.
  6. Bake for 8-12 minutes.
  7. While cookies are baking prepare a simple toffee. Start by browning butter on medium high heat.
  8. Add other half of brown sugar and stir continuously until well melted and combined. Remove from heat.
  9. As soon as cookies come out of the oven top with flakey salt and cool for 5-10 minutes.
  10. Using a fork drizzle desired amount toffee mixture on top of cooled cookies.
  11. Top with more flakey salt and then cool in fridge for about 45 minutes or until toffee is fully hardened.
  12. Enjoy!

Best served with a cold glass of milk
